the wider community. Some mystical stories that circulate among the public are:
Waves on the south
coast often take casualties. As a beach that is included in the series of southern
beaches, Papuma Beach has large and fierce waves, so many tourists are swept
away by the waves.
Malikan Stone, one of
the giant rocks located on this beach is believed to be a place where Raden
Mursada fished. It was on this rock that Raden Mursada accidentally fished for
a magical fish, Raja Mina, which he later released. On this rock Joko
Samudera's hook is also caught by a giant snake which is then split into three
parts.
The beauty of Papuma Beach
Before you enter the
Papuma Beach area, you will be treated to views of the teak forest which is the
entrance to this beach. The name of the forest is Maliki Forest which still has
a wealth of flora and fauna unique to Indonesia. You do not need to be afraid
of the road in this forest, because the manager has provided a special road for
tourists going to Papuma Beach.
Among the wider
community, Papuma Beach is also known as Tanjung Papuma Beach because of the
position of the land that protrudes into the sea to resemble a headland. Papuma
Beach has a very beautiful view, a blend of white sand and coral that spread on
the beach.
The distinctive feature
of Papuma Beach is the seven large coral towers on the beach. Its large size
makes these reefs resemble an island. The seven corals also have their respective
names namely Batara Guru Island, Krishna Island, Narada Island, Kajang Island
and Nusa Barong Island. And another coral that looks like a frog, so named the
Island of Frog.
When the waves begin to
recede you can feel the sensation of standing on a rock and feel the wind that
touches the face. But keep in mind, you must be careful because the rock has a
rough and steep shape, so you can get hurt if you are not careful. At low tide
you can also see the agility of fish chasing under the reef.
This tourist spot is a
suitable location visited by photographers. Photographers can capture photos of
towering coral reefs. Or it could also be a location for prewedding photos
because here there are many interesting spots.
Sea water at this beach
is quite calm, so many fishermen who dock at this beach and get off the boat
around 11:00 to 13:00 noon. In addition to anchoring to rest, these fishermen
usually also bring their catch fish that you can buy and burn directly on the
beach with friends. But if you don't want to be bothered, you can bring the
fish in the stalls to cook.
